LEGOLAND Florida Resort · Winter Haven, FL · About 30 minutes south of Lakeland
About LEGOLAND Florida
LEGOLAND Florida is built around the original Cypress Gardens grounds and is the largest LEGOLAND outside Europe. It's the closest major theme park to Lakeland, and the only park in Central Florida built specifically for kids 2–12.
Families with younger kids often skip the hour-long drive to Orlando's bigger parks and base in Lakeland for LEGOLAND day trips. A Lakeland stay also costs meaningfully less than Winter Haven and Orlando equivalents.
Where to stay
Lake Hunter Haven and Clementine Cottage are equally easy starting points for the LEGOLAND drive south.

Tips
- Plan for a single park day plus a Cypress Gardens stop. The historic gardens are inside the park and easy to miss in the LEGO build-out.
- Skip the Friday afternoon arrival window. Traffic on the State Road 17 / Cypress Gardens Boulevard corridor stacks up.
- Check the calendar for LEGOLAND special events — the park runs Christmas, Halloween, and seasonal Brick-or-Treat programs.
